What we collect, and what we don’t

Keepsake Paw Prints is a one-person studio in Nova Scotia, Canada. This page is written plainly because you should not need a lawyer to understand what happens to your details.
The short version. If you join the mailing list we keep your email address, and your name if you gave one, so we can email you about new artwork. We do not sell it, share it, or send you anything else. You can leave whenever you like, and we will delete you completely if you ask.
The mailing list
If you tick the box and submit the form on our home page, we store:
- your email address;
- your name, if you chose to give one — it is optional;
- the date and time you agreed, the wording you agreed to, and the IP address the form was sent from.
That last item exists so we can show, if we are ever asked, that you genuinely asked to hear from us and were not added by someone else. Canadian anti-spam law expects us to be able to prove consent, and this is how we do it.
We use it to send occasional notes about new portrait styles and seasonal pieces — a few times a year at most. Nothing else. No advertising for other companies, no selling or renting the list, no sharing it with anyone.
Leaving the list
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email hello@keepsakepawprints.com and say “unsubscribe” — no reason needed, no questions asked.
When you unsubscribe we keep a record that you were once on the list and have now left, so that an old backup or import cannot quietly put you back. If you would rather be erased completely, say delete me instead and we will remove the row entirely. Either way it is done within a few days.
Orders
Orders are placed and paid for on Etsy, not here. Etsy handles your payment details and we never see them. What we see is what any seller sees: your name, the delivery address you gave Etsy, and the messages you send us.
We keep order correspondence and the artwork we made for you so we can help if you lose your files later — people do, and being able to re-send is part of the service. Being an Etsy customer does not put you on the mailing list. The only way onto it is the form on this site.
Your pet’s photograph
The photo you send is used to make your artwork, and for nothing else.
We never show a customer’s pet on this website, in shop listings, in advertising or on social media unless that customer has specifically said yes to it. We ask separately, after the work is delivered, and no is a perfectly normal answer that changes nothing about your order. Where you see a pet on this site, either it belongs to us or its owner told us we could.
Delivery links
Finished artwork is delivered through a private link of the form
files.keepsakepawprints.com/d/<random>/. The address is long and
random, it is not listed anywhere, and search engines are told not to index it.
Files are removed automatically after 365 days, which is why we ask you to save
them somewhere safe.
This website
No advertising trackers, no analytics profiles built about you, no cookies set for marketing. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes ordinary request data such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and block attacks.
Where your details live
The mailing list is stored with Cloudflare. Order information lives with Etsy under their own privacy policy. Both may store data outside Canada.
Asking us anything
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@keepsakepawprints.com and we will answer. There is no form to fill in and no charge.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
